Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What do I need to bring for my vacation?
A. You need to bring bed linens, comforter and/or sleeping bags, pillows, towels for personal use & swimming, & your food. Remember if you are planning a fish fry and need extra propane tanks to bring that or there will be a charge for extra tank.

Q. What are the cottages equipped with?
A. All cottages are equipped with refrigerator, propane stove/oven, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker or coffee pot, coffee filters, pots, pans, cutlery, cooking utensils, cheese grater, dishware, tea towels, dish soap, toilet paper, 1 garbage bag in each bin.

Q. Can I bring my pet?
A. Yes, with the exception of aggressive breeds or generally unfriendly dogs. These are best left at a kennel. Your pets must be people- and pet- friendly. All pets must be leashed when walking, tied while outside at your cabin, and under the control of a responsible person. There are no exceptions to this policy. You must "stoop and scoop" for your pet. Pets are not to be left unattended, whether inside the cottage or outside. This includes when guests are out on the lake. There is a fee of $75.00 weekly or $15 daily for each pet.
Q. Are friends allowed to visit me during my stay?
A. Yes, of course. All Visitors (and guests) must first check in to office upon arrival. Visitors who come for the day are charged a daily fee of $20 per person or $50 per family up to 5 people. Visitors who stay overnight are charged the nightly rate as per cottage rate.
Q. Can I bring my own boat?
A. Of course you can. Each cottage has one dock or one side of a dock, depending on the cottage size and capacity.

Q. Can I plan my vacation for less than one week?
A. Yes, with the exception of the months of July and August. But in May, June Sept and Oct - you will be charged for a minimum of 3 nights.
Q. Where can I shop in the area?
A. We have Ice, worms, treats, ice cream, tackle and more right here at Beaverland OR Marten River offers Trappers Trading Post with groceries, LCBO outlet, Gas, Propane exchange, Gift shops. For major grocery store, we would recommend a half-hour trip to North Bay.
Q. Where can I eat in the area?
A. We have our very own "Beaver Shack" located at the East end of the camp, no need to travel far for good food! - but if you feel the need to explore you can try Lumpy's at Trappers Trading Post, The Tomiko in Tilden Lake or The Rock Pine Restaurant.
Q. How far is the hospital from Beaverland?
A. The North Bay Regional Health Centre is approximately 30 minutes. Ambulance is available through our 9-1-1 area service. Walk-in clinics in are also available in North Bay for non-emergency services. (Also See our Health services page.)
Q. What is there to do in the area?
A. Visit the Logging Museum in the Marten River Provincial Park and step back in time. The Temagami Fire Tower offers a bird's eye view from atop a fire ranger's tower. Also visit the North Bay and Sturgeon Falls Museums; Dionne Quints Museum; cruise Lake Nipissing on the Chief Commanda (also offers dinner cruises with entertainment; live theatre at Capitol Centre and Nipissing Stage Company summer theatre; excellent Golf Courses; Lake Nipissing Waterfront with Heritage Carousel and Mini-Train; Silver Mine Tour in Cobalt, and much more.
Q. What documents do our American guests require to return to the USA?
A. Link to this information at www.noto.ca/bordercrossing.cfm Passport, NEXUS card or enhanced drivers license. American guests require YOUR government documents for re-entry into USA
Q. How do I rent a boat if I don't have my Pleasure Operator's Card?
A. You can still rent our boats with your completed Boat rental agreement, approved by NOTO and accepted by Federal regulators. USA boat operators cards also accepted.
Q. Can I bring fireworks to the camp?
A. Sorry, NO fireworks are permitted at the camp at any time.
Q. Should I bring my own lawn chairs?
A. We supply chairs at the beach and some throughout the grounds. You may want to consider bringing your own chairs.
Q. Are there BBQ's available anywhere?
A. Each cottage has a propane BBQ, however for turkey cookers, etc, we suggest you bring your own propane tank or additional fee charged. Also available some charcoal BBQs for that real char broiled taste!!
Q. Can I cancel my reservation?
A. Yes, reservations cancelled 30 days or more from the arrival date will have their deposit refunded (Less 30% admin fee)
Cancellations made 29-15 days from arrival date, forfeit their deposit
Cancellations 14 days and under from arrival date or no shows, will be charged the full reservation amount, unless other arrangements are made with management.
Q. Do I have to leave a deposit to reserve?
A. Yes, we require a deposit of 30% of the total reservation at the time of booking.
